Last year I dedicated a month to learning watercolour trees. What I learned I'm excited to share with you. Painting watercolour trees is fun and easy and anyone can do it.

In this class we're going to paint a variety of backgrounds, using different watercolour techniques, and then we will learn up to 6 different trees. All the trees are suitable for any level painter, and the workshop will encourage exploration and play.

For supplies you'll need:

  • Watercolour paints
  • Paint brushes
  • 10 or more 4" X 6" ish cards of watercolour paper
  • An old credit card or library card
  • Plate
  • Masking tape
  • Spray bottle (dollar store)
  • Paper towel
  • Parchment or wax paper
  • White paint, ink, gesso, or guache
  • 4 or 5 rinse water cups
  • Salt
  • Watercolour pencil crayons (if you have them)
  • Any other art supplies that you love and want to explore
  • Glue stick or glue (optional)
