Start your new year off with Art Journaling.

Open yourself to up to the creative expression of art journaling with this weekly creative practice.

Welcome to Art Journaling with Anna

I'm trying something new this season. How about a daytime Art Journaling class? Wednesday afternoons 1:00-3:00.

We will meet every week over Zoom for 6 weeks and spend 2 hours exploring our creative selves. Through writing prompts, paint suggestions, and guidance on composition you will create art journal pages that express you. This is a no-rules, can't do it wrong art class where all levels of art experience are welcome.

All levels welcome

Haven't painted since kindergarten, no problem. It's not that hard, and we'll take it step by step. Can't draw what you see accurately? That's okay, neither can I. That's why collage was invented. Dislike your handwriting? That's okay too, we'll be learning all kinds of creative lettering, or you can cut words out of magazines and use that.

  • people looking for connection with others in a safe and creative space
  • anyone looking to add some creativity into their life
  • creative people who are shy and tentative about putting marks on paper
  • anyone looking to get in touch with their inner artist-but has been discouraged or criticized or corrected (there's none of that going on here!)
  • anyone who likes a good laugh, (and sometimes a good cry)

What you will get out of it:

  • experience with many different mixed media techniques
  • a variety of ways to add depth and layers to your work
  • a chance to explore your own creativity
  • a place and space to express yourself safely and freely
  • the discovery that you have a style unique to you and ever-evolving
  • connection to other journalers sharing their journey with you
  • a place to process, life can throw curve balls, here's a place to take a breath
  • a new tool for your self-care, mental health toolbox
Art Journaling can be vulnerable.

This class is a place where feelings get felt, expressed, and witnessed. Art journaling has a way of opening us up to often hidden things. It makes us vulnerable and calls upon our courage. These things we are free to share with the group, (or not) so if you are ready to be supportive and be supported-please join us.

Supply List.

  • 300 gram Watercolour journal-a Canson spiral 7`` X 10`` or 9`` X 12`` spiral bound is one of my favourites, also if you can`t get the Watercolour paper pad, the Mixed Media pad works well also

What others are saying

"This was my first-time art journaling. I used to keep a journal when I was in high school (years ago), then my sister found it and read it, Art journaling is interesting, the message you write is hidden in the artwork... It was fun to play with colors and images, no artistic experience was required and I learned new things about art mediums, textures, color combinations. Anna, thank you for sharing your tips and techniques. "

"Art Journaling with Anna has changed my life! I love the process involved in creating each page. Transforming thoughts into Art and learning not to judge my work has brought me great joy! I've never been one to write in a journal...but THIS!! This is it for me! I am such a visual person so I get so excited at the idea of "making something".
